Speech must be true, build up and necessary

"Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear." Ephesians 4:29 (New American Standard Bible)

First of all, our speech must be true. e must be careful not to mis-lead or mis-represent anything. Secondly, our speech must edify, or build up. It may be necessary to rebuke, but it should always be in the best interest of the hearer. Thirdly, our speech must be necessary. That eliminates much of what is said. This verse can and should be applied every day of our lives. May God help us to glorofy Him in our speech.
